PDF's are the file of choice at Western Oregon Web Press, Inc. To that end, we have found that there is a setting in InDesign CS2 that may hinder the creation of a quality PDF for submitting to our prepress department.
We recommend that the Color Settings be turned off. To do this, follow these steps:
1. With InDesign CS2 open, choose Edit > Color Settings.
2. In the drop down menu next to "Settings", choose "Emulate Adobe InDesign 2.0 CMS Off" from the list.
PageMaker Users:
In order to make a quality PDF from a PageMaker file, you have to make a good Postscript (.ps) file.
Click on the PDF below for instructions on creating a .ps file from PageMaker. These instructions should be similar between versions 6.5 and 7.0.
